Balbido: the village painted with murals

Balbido became the Murals’ village and is affiliated inserted in the Association Painted Villages – Murals by Painters: enjoy a mountain holiday in Italy to discover the art of painting!

Walking through the hallways, the courtyards, and narrow cobbled streets, you can see many Murals on the facades of houses representing the hard peasants’ life, so hard to induce men to emigrate and become “moleta” (grinders), “ombrelèri” (umbrella-makers), “carègheti” (chair-menders) and “calièri” (shoemakers).

The numerous paintings are of various styles and evoke the old trades and jobs depicting the aspects of the one-time rural life, like the village festivals with the horse race and the legends of witches from the mysterious Marcia Valley.

We invite you to undertake the hike in the mountains N.2 among the recommended walks in order to admire the murals-painted village Balbido and the nearby peasant village of Rango, surrounded by the fantastic countryside and the green forests of Trentino.
